However, the consumption of carbohydrates and/or dietary fats, around the administration window of GH secretagogues significantly blunts the GH release. - The drug should be administered twice or thrice a day to get better results

The lyophilized powder in the vial should be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water (a liquid with restricted bacterial reproduction) and then it should be refrigerated. Storing the drug in hot environment or at ambient temperature for extended period of time can cause protein degeneration and lack of efficacy.
It is usually available in small vials of 5 mg volume. The suitable and required volume is drawn out of the vial with the help of an insulin syringe.
