Introduction- Description and Uses
Melanotan 1 and 2 both are the synthetic analogues and derivatives of the alpha melanocyte stimulating hormone (Alpha MSH) that is naturally produced in pituitary gland leading to the secretion of melanin pigment driven by UV exposure. This mimetic is merely concerned with skin and hair pigmentation, libido levels and appetite. It works by promoting the release of melanin (brown pigment) that causes tanning of the skin. Mechanism of action of Melanotan 2:
